oil on canvas works
After completing my training in advertising design at the art academy in Antwerp, I started my own company, *Algemene reclamewerken*, at the age of twenty-two (1970). Gradually, screen printing became my main occupation.
At thirty, following a burnout, I traveled to Nepal, where I trekked through the Anapurna Himalayas for a month and then continued on to Sri Lanka.
Five years later, I sold my business and began converting a cargo ship into a houseboat. Artists were allowed to exhibit their works there. It was here that I caught the bug again for my former passion: painting.
Currently, I am enjoying my retirement in Hungary (Pécs), where I also reside, and I enjoy the peace and beautiful nature.
My works are usually humorous in nature, spiced with eroticism. I consider giving titles to my paintings a necessary evil; it partially deprives viewers of their own imagination and interpretation.
Many of my works are suggestive. What strikes one as funny may be repulsive to another. I always start from vague sketches, but as the canvas progresses I let my imagination run wild, causing the original design to change significantly.
